Shipping Outboard Engines

We have had a number of requests regarding shipping outboard engines. At Clyde Outboard Services we prefer not to ship out new/used outboard purchases, this is for a number of reasons.

• As dealers, for warranty purposes, we are required to handover new outboard engines when they are purchased to ensure our customers have sound understanding of how to operate/maintain the outboard correctly.

• We do not take responsibility for any potential damage sustained during transportation.

• Further handling charges may apply to prepare the outboard for transport.

If shipment is required, please call us prior to arranging any shipment of new/used outboards.

 

Port Glasgow Workshop Update

Our calendar is filling up for the start of the season, we have some spaces left in March for larger HP outboard but these are being snapped up quickly. If you need to book your boat in, our advice is to call sooner rather than later.

We are seeing outboards come in while fuel problems. Our best advice before the 2024 season is to make sure your outboard and any external fuel tanks have been cleaned of any old fuel. Fuel has a short shelf life!

Another top tip, take a note of your ignition key number. If your keys are lost or dropped in the water, we can order another key easily with the key number. Without the key number, you may have to have the ignition barrel removed from your control box. This will hold you back from getting out on the water.

Please make sure you have your engine’s serial number when calling for parts, we require a serial number before ordering parts.

Troon Workshop Update

Cameron fitted this rigging tube to a Mariner 115hp. This set up will now stop water entering the front of the engine and damaging the IAC valve. If you are wanting to book in for a service in Troon, please give us a call on 01475 744555 or email info@clyde-outboard-services.co.uk

Mobile Jobs

We have seen an increase in mobile service requests. Currently we are taking bookings for April for any new requests. The weather has set us back but the guys are working hard to get jobs cleared.
