February 2025 Update

Mercury Re-Power Campaign

Maybe your boat doesn’t perform the way it used to or the way you’d like. Maybe your family has grown, and your boat needs more power. Perhaps your outboard engine has reached the end of its service life, or the parts to fix it have become difficult to find. Whatever the reason, it is the ideal time to upgrade the boat you love with a new Mercury engine and connected technologies.

Repowering can deliver improved performance, increased fuel economy and better handling for a more enjoyable boating experience.

Bookings for Spring 2025

Our calendar is filling up quickly for the start of the 2025 season. We have slots available for early March but these will be snapped up. If you are needing a service or repair to your outboard before the start of the season, our advice is to contact us sooner rather than later!

Fuel Tips

With each new season, we see more and more running issues caused by contaminated fuel. Below are some tips to help reduce down time or potentially costly repairs.

  • Old Fuel -Throughout the season, contaminated fuel was the number one reason for running issues. Do not keep old untreated fuel, untreated fuel has a short shelf life.
  • Aspen Fuel – We have been using Aspen Fuel our Workshop for some time and the results we have seen have been impressive! Regular petrol contains ethanol which is known to cause harm to small petrol engines. Aspen is ethanol free thus extending engine life and reliability. Aspen Fuel stays fresh for years. This leads to easier starting and optimum performance, from the moment you first open your fuel can right to the very last drop. Aspen Fuel – Clyde Outboard Services
  • Fuel Treatment – If your boat has a built in fuel tank, use high octane fuel and a fuel stabiliser. Run your engine with a fresh water supply and your treated fuel. This will allow the fuel in the engine to also be treated. RemNOx is an all in one product that removes sludge and wax build up in your fuel system and remedies the problem of water in tanks and fuel systems. It also treats ethanol content within fuel, keeping you fuel fresh during the boating season. RemNOx Petrol Fuel Conditioner – Clyde Outboard Services
